FEHB lets you choose from many plans, including:
- Consumer‑Driven & High Deductible Plans — lower premiums with options for health savings or reimbursement accounts.
- Fee‑for‑Service (FFS) Plans — traditional plans with broad provider access.
- Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs) & Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) — managed networks that may provide lower costs if you live or work in a plan’s service area.
Who Can Enroll
Most permanent federal employees are eligible for FEHB coverage, and family members such as spouses and children may also be covered under the same plan.
Continued Coverage in Retirement
FEHB coverage can continue into retirement for eligible federal annuitants and survivors if certain enrollment conditions are met.
